The S/L DESIGN ADVANTAGE
The S/L evolved from serious live/recording design-studies resulting in a state-of-the-art console offering higher performance with more features compared to any console in its size or weight. The S/L24, S/L40 and S/L56 frames meet all dual in-line professional recording needs. Live performances will benefit from each channel’s 8 AUX sends (two effects sends, four independent monitor sends, a stereo pair for in-ear monitoring) and the peak reading Meter Bridge.
The S/L is easy to operate with its straight forward design. Bulky molded plastic parts have been replaced with rugged, streamlined all-steel construction. Large knobs are ergonomically positioned so the operator doesn’t get the feeling of a micro sized console. The S/L’s bottom line is performance: Warm, pristine sound with total flexibility. The S/L has set a new standard!
The S/L SOUND ADVANTAGE
The heart of the S/L console is its 4-band EQ section. The power of this EQ can be quickly demonstrated by the channel’s In-Out EQ switch. The two MID-SWEEPs control an extended frequency range from 80 Hz to 5k Hz with a Q of 1.5 for precision corrections. The Lo and High shelving controls are set for enhancing the audio extremes from 75Hz and under to 12k Hz and higher. A switchable, 75Hz, 12 DB/ Oct., low cut filter frees up wasted power in the lows. The EQ section in the S/L will be your faithful partner with the ability for frequency blending only found in the finest recordings or live sound.
The S/L CHANNEL ADVANTAGE
The full featured I/0 format is perfect for “in line” studio recording. A series of TAPE switches allow the Tape Input to be the main input for mix down or the minor input while tracking. The added TAPE 5-8 switch expands the “in line” monitoring to the aux. sends for better headphone mixes & effects while tracking. For live set-ups, aux. sends 1-4 become 4 monitor sends. Plus, with the Pre Fader w/EQ switch, the stereo pair of AUX 7/8 produces the ideal stereo in-ear monitoring system still leaving two aux sends (5&6) for effects.
The S/L COMPONENT ADVANTAGE
Through the use of premium components like Noble™ sealed controls, Alps™ faders, Neutrik™ connectors and precision parts like high slew rate op-amps and 1% resistors. The S/L series maintains the transparent purity of sound only professional consoles can achieve. Double-sided copper shielded FR-4 military fiberglass circuit cards are designed for the lowest possible noise & crosstalk.
One of the most important specification on any console is the mic-line pre-amp. Our discrete design provides outstanding performance for noise-less and distortion-free live performances and studio recordings.
The S/L SLP5600 POWER SUPPLY
Every S/L console comes with a separate 2 space rack mount SLP5600 power supply that delivers 400 watts of power, nearly twice the power required by the S/L56. Because of the superb voltage regulation, ac ripple is reduced to less than .00003%. The S/L power supply uses a standard 4 conductor Speakon™ speaker cable because it features twist-lock connectors & heavy 12 gauge wire providing low resistance & high current. The 10’ SP10 is standard with every S/L. The Speakon™ cable was selected for its world-wide availability.
